Amal Neerad and his team is known to have been successful in extracting the best of the old character and have revamped him to fit the new age. Saagar Alias Jacky is an underworld don, who now operates from Dubai and Goa outgrowing Kerala. His empire is not vast and international and he moves around in chartered airplanes and BMW’s.

Mohan Lal is at his best in the movie, and the character is very well performed comparable to that of his old villan roles. Though in Sagar Alias Jacky, he’s not the typical villain. His opponent in business is the telugu actor Suman, who also played the villain role in RajniKanth’s blockbuster Sivaji.
The female roles are played by Shobhana and Bhavana, though the movie is more about Mohan Lal and Sagar Alias Jacky. One main attraction of the movie is the number of villains and characters in the movie. Rahul Bose (Killer Jeans ad fame), Manoj K Jayan, Sambath (Chennai 26, Saroja fame), Vinayakan , Ganesh Kumar goes the cast. Most of them are Amal Neerads regular cast. But they’ve been displayed in a new form and avatar.
The ace features of the movie are the stylish sequences, ultra slow motion action cuts, editing, background music by Gopi Sundar – the same guy did the background scores in Mammootty’s Big B. From the promos we can bet that the action scenes, dialogues and sequences will be as stylish as ever to thrill the audiences. With the typical Mohan Lal touch and Amal Neerad’s camera, this movie is sure to make a wave in malayalam cinema. After all with a huge budget as Rs.10 crores, there is quite something we all are expecting.
